How Pop in the Pool are creating a new space for pop artists | The Where are the Girlbands Podcast

The Safer Spaces Exchange is an ambitious 2 year project led by YWMP and funded by Youth Music. The project aims to create a national policy to make live music venues safer and more accessible for all demographics, particularly marginalised groups. In order to ensure regional expertise are heard in the policy, YWMP have partnered with 5 grassroots organisations across the UK, hosting events to hear from regional communities directly. The partner for Liverpool was Where are the Girlbands, a locally based arts organisation celebrating women in music and opening conversations about barriers to access. Having already produced a body of research in collaboration with Comics Youth for their Safe Spaces Podcast, Where are the Girlbands brought learning from artists, activists and organisations across Merseyside. Through an evening of talks, audience discussion and live music, a vision for a safer live music scene in Liverpool began to emerge. How Pop in the Pool are creating a new space for pop artists | The Where are the Girlbands Podcast

The Safer Spaces Exchange is an ambitious 2 year project led by YWMP and funded by Youth Music. The project aims to create a national policy to make live music venues safer and more accessible for all demographics, particularly marginalised groups. In order to ensure regional expertise are heard in the policy, YWMP have partnered with 5 grassroots organisations across the UK, hosting events to hear from regional communities directly. The partner for Liverpool was Where are the Girlbands, a locally based arts organisation celebrating women in music and opening conversations about barriers to access. Having already produced a body of research in collaboration with Comics Youth for their Safe Spaces Podcast, Where are the Girlbands brought learning from artists, activists and organisations across Merseyside. Through an evening of talks, audience discussion and live music, a vision for a safer live music scene in Liverpool began to emerge.
