what do we do?

MusicSeen.info is aimed to make the information on the local music scene accessible in one central place.

Our goal is to showcase the breadth of talent our city has to offer, the work they do, and how to find them. This will enable musicians and professionals to connect with each other and allow fans to find the amazing new music made in Liverpool.

The new music tab lists all new releases coming from our local musicians. Curated playlists, highlighting music by female, nonbinary, trans and other gender expansive artists as well as music by global majority artists*, in addition to moods and genre playlists will enable audiences to engage with local music.
The artists database lists over 2000 local musicians, with links to their socials and music, enabling fans, artists and professionals alike to discover local music, to find collaborators or musicians to hire. We have created a list of local women, nonbinary and trans artist, to enable local promoters to achieve more gender balanced line ups.
The professionals database is still a work in progress. The goal is to be able to use our website to find new team members to work with.
The events calendar makes it easy to find all music related events going on and our map will help you find your way there.

Our future goal is to develop a jobs board, to enable local musicians and industry professionals to hire, collaborate and find work locally.
We are also working towards hosting a grass-roots music industry conference by the end of 2024, to enable local creatives to connect and collaborate on identifying and solving local issues.

Female, non-binary, trans and other gender expansive artists as well as global majority artists are both historically marginalised identities within the music industry. Highlighting their work is our attempt to achieve more equal opportunities.

We are open to feedback and contributions, please get in touch, if you have anything to add to the database or any comments to make. We are also always looking for volunteers, so please get in touch if you would like to contribute.

Our project is a Community Interest Company, which means our goal is not financial gain, but instead reinvesting in the local music community. This is currently a labour of love. If you like our work and you are able to support us financially, every little counts, please follow the link below to make a monthly or one-off contribution.

who are we?

connor di leo

I first arrived in Liverpool in 2015 to study. I completely fell in love with the culture, people and art in this city so I never left! My life’s dream is to create a sustainable grassroots arts scene in Liverpool. I have spent 1000s of hours collecting data on the local scene to share with whoever will benefit from it the most!

nina himmelreich

I am a musician and researcher from Germany with a passion for the creative industries. I moved to the beautiful city of Liverpool in 2014 to pursue my love for music through my studies. I was and still am motivated by my wish to question current practices within the industry and drive positive change in the field, especially on the topic of gender equality and fair treatment of artists.
